Color-Coated: Shut Up, It's Red (Pt. I)

Since I was a delayed in putting up content last week, I have two Color-Coated posts for you - one coat, two looks! I am also starting to incorporate fun and behind the scenes (#BTS) video elements into my posts, so stay tuned for that in Pt. II!
But before we get into Pt. I, it's very important to me that you all know why I chose this title for my post, so please, before you do anything else, watch this short clip here...If you're reading this sentence, then you just finished the clip. Haha! So I hope you enjoy the look, featuring my "blood orange" puffer jacket!

I was definitely on my rockstar mentality (shout out to the Shop Boyz) with this look. The all-black foundation of the outfit is a thrifted Harley Davidson T-shirt, "leather" leggings, and black velvet boots. To further play off of the rockstar theme, I wore a metal choker and stacked up on silver rings. What I really love about this look is the level of contrast, in both color and texture; the vibrant puffer stands out against the black foundation, the leather pants against the velvet boots, and the hard, metal jewelry against the softness of the coat.

I did a quick shoe change to switch up the tone of the look a little bit. Below you can see that I wore a pair of Nike Cortez, and added some printed socks. The black leather shoes match perfectly with the leggings and the socks add a nice graphic element to the look. Changing your shoes is a great way to transition your look.
